About savetokens.tips

Back to the measurements ยท Practical token-saving guide.

What this site is

savetokens.tips documents token-saving techniques for AI coding agents, Claude Code and Codex. Each technique carries a measured or estimated figure with its source, sample count, and a dated snapshot, plus a practical guide to the daily habits.

Who runs it

The site is characterized and maintained by Ryan, publishing as github.com/ryanportfolio, who develops and operates the RTK proxy that produces the measurements. Contact Ryan on GitHub.

How the figures are measured

Measured figures come from rtk gain, which logs raw output tokens versus RTK-filtered output tokens per command. Every measured value states its source, date, scope, and sample count. Estimated figures carry no counterfactual, print with a leading tilde, and are never dressed as measurements.

Honesty rules

No number on the site is invented. A parameter with no measured value shows a not-characterized mark, never a guess. Single-observation figures carry an explicit caution, and every snapshot is dated so stale characterization is visible as stale.
